Why should I choose Smiley Pup?
That’s simple: every Smiley Pup client and pet receives one-on-one attention by me personally – and I put my heart and soul into what I do. I offer a lifetime of experience with dogs and cats, in addition to an extensive network of animal training and behavioral professionals should your pet have a particular issue you would like to address. All of the pet care services that Smiley Pup offers are customized to your needs and the needs of your pet. And, because Smiley Pup is strictly owner-operated, your pet receives consistent care and you can feel comfortable knowing who is in your home.
Smiley Pup can also care of your pet – and your home – while you are away. Whether you are traveling for the weekend or going on an extended vacation, I will make sure your pet stays happy and safe. I am overly cautious – I double (and triple!) check that collars and leashes are securely fastened, gates are closed, doors are locked, and that water bowls are full. I will also bring in mail and packages, water plants, make sure lights are turned on in the evening and turned off during the day, and anything else you need while you’re away.
What do clients most often say about me? That I am dependable, trustworthy, dedicated, caring, and flexible, and that I go way over the top in taking care of their pet and providing customer service. If you and your pet are not happy, neither am I.

Where does Smiley Pup provide service?
Smiley Pup provides pet care service in South Orange and Maplewood, New Jersey. Upon request, service in other locations may be available.
Will my pet be walked or visited by the same person every day?
Yes, I will always be the only person who has access to your home and who takes care of your pet.
Will I be able to get confirmation that you came by to take care of my pet?
I will always leave you a detailed note after every walk or visit so that you know that I was there and also what transpired. You can also feel free to check in with me via phone, text, or email if you have a question.
How much time will you spend with my pet?
Visits are typically 30 minutes. Longer visits are also available, as are options customized to your pet’s particular needs. Please refer to my Services/Rates tab for prices.
Can you visit my pet more than once a day?
Yes, I can visit your pet as many times a day as you would like.
Do you need to keep my key?
If you are using Smiley Pup on a regular basis, then yes, I will need to keep a copy of your key. But not to worry – your key will be tagged with your pet’s name only; no last name or address. Further, because Smiley Pup is owner-operated, I am the sole person with access to your key, and keys are secured when they are not in my possession. If you are only using Smiley Pup on an as-needed basis, such as while you travel, then I will be happy to pick up your key before you leave and drop it off upon your return, free of charge.
Do you require any paperwork from my vet?
Vaccination records are not required for service, given that your dog will never be walked with a group of dogs or exposed to any other animals while in my care. All of my visits are one-on-one so that your pet receives all of my attention.
Do you offer boarding while I'm out of town?
I do not offer boarding. I do, however, provide as many daily visits as you wish so that your pet is able to remain in his or her familiar and safe environment while you are away. This greatly reduces anxiety for your pet.
I typically visit dogs three (3) times per day, during which I will walk, feed, administer any necessary medication, provide fresh water, and provide play time. I typically visit cats one (1) time per day, during which I will feed, administer any necessary medication, provide fresh water, clean the litter box, and provide play time. Also included in every visit are lots of pats and general adoration! If your pet requires additional daily visits or specialized care while you are away, I'm happy to accommodate.

What are my payment options?
I accept cash/check/Venmo. Payment is due at the end of the week unless other arrangements have been made.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
I ask that you try and give me 24 hours notice of a cancellation so that I have the option to fill your spot. At the same time, I try to be flexible; I understand that things can come up last minute. If, however, I arrive at your house and find no pet or am told that service is not needed for that day, there is a $10 charge.
